Ah, winter is so much fun….NOT! It is Thursday morning, and I am sitting in the Habitat office In Macon Georgia waiting for the UPS delivery and providing you with a quick update. It is a chill 21 degrees outside, and I believe the water connection to my kitchen is frozen. I had planned on leaving yesterday morning but had a medical appointment in Jonesboro yesterday at Kaiser that kept me an extra day. UPS was scheduled to deliver yesterday, but was delayed, so here I sit. It is really too cold to get outside and remove my chocks and blocks, and I don’t want to disconnect electrical until the last moment….so, maybe it will all warm up a little.
Florida, here I come. My plan is to reach the Ocala National Forest this evening and stay there for two or three nights, enjoying some warmth, hiking, maybe some manatees, and anything else that crosses my pathway. Wonderful! On Sunday I will complete the drive to Vero Beach where my next two-week stint with Habitat starts up. Looking forward to meeting some more amazing people and new friends. This journey is turning out to be all about the people…..what a blessed experience!
