Words to describe Memorial Day weekend at Pine Acres Family Resort Oakham Massachusetts:  Wild, crazy, busy, wonderful!  And to top off all the commotion, I picked up a few more skills to add to my resume:  server, ice cream scooper, floor sweeper, cashier, milk shake and sundae maker, dishwasher, and product stocker.  These skills are not necessarily new, but they are at the pace we were doing them!  350 campsites at Pine Acres, and we were at capacity…..with an average of four to a site.  Eight hour work days flew by, and nights were too short.  Campers are great people, relaxed and ready to have some fun.  Some of them don’t even mind waiting almost an hour for ice cream!

Old Glory, waves of freedom
Old Glory, waves of freedom

Moments of grace:  Only one picture is needed for this holiday weekend.  Old Glory flies high in the trees at Pine Acres for all to see and admire.  It serves as a tribute to our men and women who have served faithfully and gallantly through conflicts old and current.  We live in a country that is blessed and free.  Until you have traveled other parts of this world, you cannot appreciate enough the meaning of the word “free.”   Thank you, dear soldiers, for that freedom.  You are loved and appreciated.  May God continue to bless America.
